I have always loved the transition seasons of fall and spring the most because of the promise of something new coming. The end of the year is another time of transition where we focus on what has been accomplished, and then turn our attention to the great things that lie ahead. We had a chance to look back over the past several years at some of the more important projects we have been fortunate to be a part of and the lessons learned in a recent blog post.

Each of the projects highlighted in that blog post has helped to confirm the value that an innovative building system like the Bautex Wall System can create for building owners, as well as the entire project team.
However, what we also learned is that innovation is a team sport. This is especially true in construction where architects, contractors, engineers, owners and manufacturers must all come together to effectively bring new technologies and building processes to bear in order to solve the challenges we face today as an industry.
Your Innovation Engine
At Bautex, we get comments and feedback all the time that we aren’t the typical building materials manufacturing company. That does not come as a surprise to us given the varied background of our leadership team that includes financial services, high tech, telecom and large-scale concrete construction.
We knew that driving new building technologies into a complex, risk-averse and slow-changing industry would require not just new technology, but also capable people and effective processes that are singularly focused on helping project teams efficiently deploy the technology to drive better outcomes.
At Bautex, we see our role not as simply R&D technologists, but as providing a complete innovation engine that includes:
- The Right Products: We develop building systems that are designed to save projects time and money, AND, at the same time, deliver superior, long-lasting performance. The Bautex Wall System reduces labor and trades, shortens construction schedules, and eliminates costly rework and warranty risk.
- The Right People: We are a powerful extension to your project team, helping to make design and construction simpler and faster for you. The Bautex team is focused on the building science, engineering and building codes that drive energy efficiency, indoor air quality (IAQ), thermal comfort, indoor acoustical quality, fire protection, windstorm safety, sustainability and resilience.
- The Right Processes: You work directly with the Bautex team through the entire life cycle of a project from project evaluation, design and engineering, construction, and through final review and analysis.
Proof is In the Pudding

At the Texas Society of Architects Annual Conference and Design Expo this past October, we received tremendously positive feedback on the six construction projects that we were highlighting. The buildings completed were varied in building type, location and project goals. Value was demonstrated for the building owners, as well as the project teams, involved in the project.
The simplicity of the Bautex Wall System both in design and in construction was experienced first-hand. And many different project goals were achieved including low cost and speed of construction, energy efficiency, resilience and indoor environmental quality.

In the end, significantly better buildings were designed and built thanks to the innovative products, people and processes that Bautex provides, and through the willingness of architects, contractors and owners to invite Bautex to be a part of the project team.
Innovation in construction is a team sport – you need us, and we need you. Bautex is not right for every project, but if you have a 1 – 3 story conditioned building that is early in design, invite us to take a look at the project with you. We want to be part of the innovation your firm delivers to clients in 2020.
