StuccoMaxTM is a mineral-based exterior stucco that provides significantly higher water, impact and abrasion resistance than traditional or synthetic stucco systems. StuccoMax installs quickly over most wall substrates without the need for metal lath. StuccoMax is well suited for application over the Bautex Wall System, making installation fast and increasing the long-term performance of the building.

High impact and abrasion resistance At 3,500 PSI compressive strength, StuccoMax is significantly more durable than conventional three-part stucco and modern EIFS stucco systems.
Non-combustible Does not burn and provides an additional layer of protection to the walls of any building.
Low shrinkage Mineral-based cement does not shrink during curing unlike Portland cement, reducing chances for cracking of the finish.
High water resistance Does not absorb water like traditional stucco systems, further protecting walls from water damage.
High sulphate resistance Not vulnerable to degradation caused by exposure to water with higher concentrations of sulfates.
High freeze-thaw resistance More resilient to freezing temperatures which can damage other finish systems.

Initial Pass
An initial base coat of material is troweled and spread evenly onto the wall.
Fiberglass Mesh
An 11-ounce fiberglass mesh is worked into the base layer using a trowel.
Final Pass
A final coat is troweled onto the wall while the material is still wet and then worked to final finish.

StuccoMax can be installed directly over the Bautex AMB 20 line of air and moisture barriers. StuccoMax finish options include (1) hard troweled to a smooth flat finish, (2) worked with a sponge trowel to reveal fine aggregate for a textured finish, or (3) worked with a textured roller or stencil to create an ornamental finish.

Suitable Substrates

  • Bautex Block and Air & Moisture Barrier
  • Foam insulation
  • Concrete Masonry Units (CMU)
  • Exterior fiberglass matt sheathing (e.g. DensGlass®, SECUROCK®)
  • Concrete
  • Stucco

Application Rates

StuccoMax can be applied at different thicknesses, but is typically installed in a single coat from 18″ to 316″ final thickness. Following are typical yields for a 75 pound bag of StuccoMax material:

Coverage for 75 pound bag 55 sf 45 sf
Weight (lbs/sq.ft) 1.13 lbs/sf 1.67 lbs/sf

*Product yields may also vary due to water content and substrate conditions.

Finish Options

Concrete Sealer
StuccoMax can be left a natural tan color by simply applying a concrete sealer after the wall finish has cured.

In cases where a solid color is desired, StuccoMax can be painted.

Concrete Stain
StuccoMax will accept concrete stains, but the resulting color profile will tend to be more muted and mottled than a painted wall.

Exterior Wall Coating System

StuccoMax is manufactured from all natural elements, contains no Portland cement or silica, and does not emit any pollutants. This exterior wall coating system provides a durable and attractive finish to any building.
