What is your favorite part of your job and why?

I love that I have the ability to create something. As a manufacturer, we take raw materials and turn them into a usable product. It is always rewarding to see a building that you had a hand in developing.

What does research and development look like for Bautex?

Our research and development is focused on making sure Bautex is leading the way in testing complementary building materials for the Bautex Wall System, ensuring quality of raw materials and maintaining efficient production processes.

What does a typical week look like for you?

I don't think I've had a typical week yet. My main focus is on block production and making sure we hit quality, cost and delivery targets while maintaining a high level of safety for all employees.

What contribution to Bautex are you most proud of?

First of all, I've never worked with a better group of people. While all that we've done so far has been a huge team effort, I will say that I'm very proud of getting the manufacturing plant operational in such a timely manner. It took a lot of coordination to simultaneously finish construction of the building and installation of the manufacturing equipment. It was a great accomplishment to get the plant operational, especially considering Bautex is the first to automate the manufacturing of a composite insulating concrete form.

How does past experience prepare you for what you do today?

My previous employer gave me the opportunity to work in a variety of different roles. I got firsthand experience in concrete mix design, safety management, leadership manufacturing, plant maintenance and numerous other operations.
